Company History
White-Tucker Company began operations in 1910, in Dallas, Texas as the Louis-White-Tucker Company. Its facilities were small and the three founders conducted all aspects of the business, consisting mainly of selling hand pumps to the then young gasoline industry. In the company's early years Mr. White and Mr. Tucker bought Mr. Louis' interest and dropped his name from the title. The company expanded from its original facilities to a total of four locations, but the depression years forced the closing of two, leaving only the Houston and Dallas offices. In 1949, Charles Kemp joined the business as a partner and operating manager. Following Mr. Tucker's death, Mr. Kemp acquired full ownership of the company and incorporated the business. We have seen many changes through the years, including in 2003, when Lydia Cowie and Nona Kemp, both growing up with White-Tucker Company, purchased the company from their father, making it a 100% woman owned business.
